Sudden death of the High Priest

Today, Friday, October 28, 2022, the skies of Mageía mourn with downpours the loss of the human being most cherished by the believers, the High Priest Forcis.

He was found dead by his beloved wife, Margaret Gredel, for whom the citizens also feel great admiration. She herself, who has devoted her life to medicine, confirmed this morning at 9:00 a.m. the death of her husband from a heart attack at the age of 65.

Margaret Gredel's first words to the media were the following: "I am extremely heartbroken by the sudden death of my husband, but at the same time, extremely happy that he is already reunited with our Gods and will now be able to protect us from heaven."

The cause of death of the one who has been our direct connection to the Gods for 32 years, has already been confirmed as a heart attack, which occurred in his office this morning while he was working on the organization of the national festival in honour of the Gods that has been held in Mageía since the day the first two humans came into the world.

The preparations for the funeral of the High Priest Forcis have already begun. His body will be transported to the Pantheon of Aíegam where the ritual of the divine farewell will take place tomorrow, Saturday, October 29th.

This ritual consists of 6 steps involving the 6 Gods and the 6 elements they represent. First, his body will be sprinkled with sand from the National Park of Mageía. Afterwards, it will be cleansed with sacred water from the National Waterfall. Following this, the large windows of the Great Hall of the Pantheon will be opened until the wind blows all the water off his body. Next, his beloved wife will give him a last kiss of true love on the lips, representing the power of the Goddess of Love, Agápi.

Once kissed, his sacred mark granted by the Supreme Goddess will be removed from his body to be preserved in the Mural of Blessings, where all the pieces of skin with the four-leaf clovers of all the High Priests who have led Mageía are kept.

Finally, the body will be cremated and kept in a jar of Attic clay, typical from the first years of civilization, with a design chosen by the High Priest Forcis himself back in the day. The jar will be kept together with the remains of his predecessors in the divine hall called Eiríni (peace).

Although people are still in deep grief, the search for the next High Priest must begin. A couple of citizens born with the necessary requirements for such a position, the sacred birthmark with the four-leaf clover (national symbol of Mageía), are already being considered, and will have to face great trials to reach the victory.

We will continue to inform you about the searching of Mageíans with divine blood and direct connection with the Gods. Once selected, the challenges will be explained, and the next High Priest of the country will be announced.
