Young female hunter killed
during virgin hunt
On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a young 21-year-old was killed with a bow and arrow while hunting for female virgins. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is currently underway.

According to the prosecutor's office, the body was still in perfect condition and the woman had died less than 24 hours ago. An arrow was found in her neck, which is normally used during the hunt for escaped female virgins. The body was still in good condition which made the identification process go easy. The person in question is the 21-year-old Calioppe Ifigenia.
Virgin hunting is a popular hobby in Mageía. Every night, at least thousands of women go hunting to anesthetize and capture escaped virgins to later sacrifice them to the Gods. During this hunt, the hunters use an arrow infused with sleep aid to put the virgins to sleep. The hunters are trained to aim the arrow in a non-fatal place, so that they can later bury the virgins alive. Calioppe herself was one of the hunters and was hunting the night she died.
A 40-year-old woman found the body during her morning walk through the forest. 'At first I thought it was a virgin that one of the hunters had forgotten to take with her. But then I saw a bow and arrow lying there and it dawned on me that it was one of the hunters. I immediately called the emergency services hoping they could still save her. Unfortunately, all help came too late and the victim had already died several hours before.'

Investigations now show that the arrow was not imbued with the soporific, but with poison that painfully and slowly kills the victim. The police therefore assume that the woman was killed on purpose.
Her friends, whom Calioppe often went hunting with, said the hunt had ended at 3 a.m., but that Calioppe did not want to go home right away. She told her friends that she would like to take another walk through the woods before heading home. Her friends didn't find anything strange about this, since Calioppe did this often. Until now, this had never gone wrong.
The news also came as a shock to Calioppe's family. Her older sister, with whom she occasionally hunted together, was already a bit worried because she had not heard her come home at night, but she thought she might have gone home with a friend. 'Calioppe liked to take a walk after the hunt to clear her mind. I always went home then and Calioppe usually came home half an hour later as well. I had not heard her come home that night, but assumed she was with a friend. I never expected to hear this news. Calioppe was liked by everyone and I wouldn't know who would want to do her any harm.'
The Mageía prosecutor's office and police have now started a further investigation into the circumstances. They are also asking all hunters to stay in groups and not walk alone through the forest at night until the perpetrator is apprehended.
