The turn of events on the
second day of the competition

Yesterday, December the 11th, the second day of the search for Mageía's new leader took place. The day started off with one of the most feared challenges by the participants, the self-built parachute in a total of 30 minutes. Mageíans were confident that the God of air would give the "wings" to the right person. And indeed, Aure was the only one who did not have a violent crash while jumping from the highest peak of the country (located in Ourea, a mountain in Óren). The rest of the participants, unfortunately, fractured their elbows and knees.

That same night and after enough hours of rest, they faced the darkest challenge yet; spending the whole night buried underground in the National Park lands. The God of earth had the power to decide who would still be alive the next morning. Unfortunately, Briseida was found dead from asphyxiation when the bodies were dug up in the morning. Many believe that the fractures and infected burns on her feet were also responsible for her death.

After saying goodbye to Briseida, the two remaining contestants had to face the final challenge, the hardest and most dangerous of them all in honour of the Supreme Goddess. In the National Pantheon, the fight against the beast, a 250 kg lion that had not eaten for 5 days, was arranged. The objective of the challenge was that only one could survive, so, even if they managed to kill the lion, one of them had to kill the other in combat.

As expected, the two finalists decided to join forces and defeat the animal. And so, they did; while one threw arrows that weakened the lion, the other took the opportunity to stab his sword into its heart until it was completely dead. Subsequently, the lion was offered to the Gods, since they are the only ones with the privilege of eating meat.

Once the animal was removed from the Pantheon, Deo and Aure were forced to fight each other till death. But they could not do it, they were not capable of taking each other's lives away. An atmosphere of uncertainty was created and Mageíans began to get angry.

Suddenly, the most unexpected thing in the world happened. Deo approached Aure and kissed him on the lips. They were immediately removed from the Pantheon.  Infidelities, divorces and of course homosexual relationships that cannot procreate are totally forbidden in Mageía, as once stated by our Goddess of love, Agápi.

The country is still in a state of shock over what happened but there have already been some speculations as to what will happen to these damned individuals. Most likely they will be deported to Noma, land of the outcasts and pariahs of society.

This has definitely been a sign from our Gods warning us that none of these candidates were the right ones. In the next few days, a new search for citizens with the sacred mark will begin, new challenges will have to be selected and the whole process will have to be repeated.

As always, stay tuned to Mageía’s News to keep yourselves updated.
